Roses come in a variety of colours and are a woody perennial flowering plant in the genus Rosa and in the family Rosaceae. There are over 300 spices and thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants.
Roses form a group of plants that can be shrubs, climbing or trailing with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Roses range in size from compact, miniature to climbers that can reach 7 meters. Since there are so many species of roses we won’t talk about all of them today.
Today we’ll talk about 3 different types of roses, The Rosa Eden, Princess Alexandra and the Rosa “Mister Lincoln.”
Rosa Eden
The Rosa Eden is a climbing rose that grows upright and can reach 100-130 cm. This rose is pink and white and can reach an average of 10cm with 55-60 petals. The large old-rose type blooms are carmine-pink on the inside or ivory on the outside. Making this rose a wonderful addition to any garden, as long as you have the wall space for it to grow to its full potential.
Princess Alexandra of Kent
Princess Alexandra of Kent is a beautiful rose named after Queen Elizabeth’s cousin. These roses bloom in late spring and are usually large and have around 130 petals and grows to 130cm and 90cm wide.
Rosa “Mister Lincoln”
Rosa “Mister Lincoln is a tall red rose that is renowned for its strong fragrance and was introduced in 1964. It has a deep red colour and grows to 1.2 meters. The buds open into large, velvety red double blossoms. And the best part about this flower is that is does well in most any climate.
