I just wanted to thank your organization as we have heard from the recipient that the flowers were beautiful. She just had surgery and returned home today to find the lovely flowers.
It is very difficult ordering things over the internet not knowing what the product will look like but to have a recipient who is a horticulturalist say that they are beautiful is a wonderful recommendation!

I love your website!
So easy to use, and with the peace of mind that there are "real" people behind it. I placed my order late Wednesday night, and Ted called me first thing the next morning to confirm some french characters that hadn't gone through properly. I saw the flowers tonight, and they were fantastic. And the handwritten card adds just the right touch. The funny thing is that I could walk to your shop on my lunch hour, but it's so easy to sit back and take my time when using your website that I'll probably do it that way again next time.

We searched on the web for Mississauga Florist on yahoo.ca.
I wanted to use a Canadian local site, and the Neweduk funeral home link directed me to Teleflora, a US site with US prices. So I searched for a local site myself.

Don't fall into the trap of buying a paid link. The public is slowly getting smart enough to look deeper into Google searches and those clearing houses that just distribute orders to local shops will always have deep pockets. You'll just hit you bottom line hard trying to beat them at their own game.

Keep the faith - do what you're already doing well. The public will get smarter - it will just take time.

Besides you were an easy pick for me. My folks only live a couple of blocks off Brant Street and my girl friend, who was born in Burlington, is Maria.

Ian Congratulations and thank you for choosing Brant Florist.

You are one of the few who know about paid links that make Google hugely rich with ads that suck folks into sites where they should never place an order for flowers.

(Google now have several billion dollars in cash and it all comes from those ads)

Please spread the word!

This is huge issue for local firms. What you may not know is that those US sites would just take your money and send the order to us to be delivered. Most of them are not REAL florists. Some are also bad because they skim orders. And of course we would have to pay them a rather large commission. Great for them! Bad for you and us!

Most folk seem to fail to understand that the flowers have to be delivered by a local flower shop anyways. Why not order directly from them?

But all is fair in business, war and love they say. So we just have to keep fighting and spreading the word.

PS Many have said well why don't you pay for an ad there too? I guess we may have to some day to defend our turf. But those pay per click links are expensive (sold by bidding) and the web sites that are just an office can afford to pay Google because their overhead is very low compared to a real flower shop with an actual physical location with stock, staff, etc.

I used Google looking for "Burlington Ontario Florist" you might be interested to know that two paid links came up at the top of the Google results that looked like they might be in Burlington but were in USD! I ditch those looked down further for a florist that actually was in Burlington.

If possible it might be best to deliver the flowers in the morning. I didn't think of this when I entered the order.
